Bravo! Bravo! Taking the responsibility back as a community will empower us all on every level. The film truly shows a passion for the possible at a grass-root level. Well done. The participation and organic heart-felt offerings are palpable.

Going to the root of the issue can be addressed as well. The sources of energy that we are steeped in are archaic. These power issues will continue to come up to herald that fact. Acknowledging that, from this moment on, will pull us all out of the negative into the positive. The ‘powers as asshole factor’ will not move us ahead and most of us are stuck into that paradigm.

Research a Blaze-King heat source in your home. You have so much old wood in your gorgeous rich part of the world. Research solar powered and free energy generators and bring them to your homes. Research digging a well along with having city water. Most cities will allow you to find an alternative water source on your property if you own the land. REALLY take the actual power back! For your body as well: i.e. no GMOs ( research what foods are GMOed, commit to grass fed, locally/lovingly grown food. There is great support for us all in these areas. When we commit to taking the ‘power back’ literal and proverbial our true voice/action is heard, ….big time, and shift will happen as the ‘powers that control’ will not have victims to manipulate. The gig will be up!

Research what Transition Towns are doing throughout North America! It is very exciting. We live in a very exciting time!

I don’t know how things work in Canada but in California about 16 months ago I did wright a letter to my power company telling them I don’t want the smart meter,do not install one on my home. They replied with you have no choice.
We played cat and mouse for a couple months untill one day they snuck up on me and installed the new meter. AssHoles.

My rates went up a little but I know about five poeple that were paying around $150.00 a month and after the new meter was installed their bill went up to $400.00+. These poeple have no money and the power company told them to pay up or we will back charge you for power you didn’t pay for. These smart meters are accurate and you were under billed for years. Double AssHoles.

In a way the power company was right. The old meter were off a little.
I am an electrician and I can tell you for sure that the old meters were off.
They were off 10% to 15% in the power companies favor. They know this to be true but won’t tell you this.

Great video people !
But they overlooked one very important point that is:
The main reason for replacing analog meters with automated ones is to eliminate the meter reading departments of the utilities.
What they have done is to take the ratepayers money to fund a meter project so the utilities can reduce their workforce. All of the costs to read the meters manually have always been built into the rate structure and paid for by the ratepayers, and eliminating the cost that the utilities charge the ratepayers for meter reading will result in pure profit to the utilities and their shareholders.
The utilities are not going to pass on the savings to their ratepayers in any way, in fact, they have raised the rates to pay for the program. There will be no rate reductions or rebates to the consumers. And look out !, in some areas peak time pricing might become mandatory, meaning that in some areas customers could be charged up to one dollar per kilowatt hour during the hours of 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. That will result in even more profit to the utilities and further gouge the ratepayers.
That peak pricing program is what the government and utilities use to justify the automated meter program, it is somehow supposed to save energy. In reality, it won’t save any energy at all, because people are not going to change their lives and quit living and working between the hours of 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The governments and utility corporations know this, so they will capitalize on it. It’s ALL about PROFITS, not saving energy.
