I just received a notice that Duke energy wants to put in a smart meter, calling the number I’m told if I don’t want a new meter I can have my electricity turned off.

I’m in Clermont County, Bethel area – what can I legally do to keep the smart meter out and still continue to get electricity?

I do have computer and ham radio equipment that I fear it will effect as well as my health and that of my daughter.

Help!

I may be the next one to be turn off by AEP . I told the AEP worker who came to my house to read the meter and he was holding a new meter and I told him that I did not what a new meter and he said ok he was about to leave so I went back to the house then my lights went out so I went back side and the damn new meter was in after I told him that I did Not want the new meter . after a few weeks have went by and I am still fighting with them to take out the new meter and put the old one back in they will not do it. and now month later I do not feel that good light headed all the time, call AEP and they told me ,,, AEP does not make them meters any more. So I ask them If I find one of the old meters like the one that I had can you then switch out the meter , then women said ..please hold then she said we will call you back. 15mins later they did call back and said they will not switch out the damn meter and then they hang up . Here it is 2 months later and I am still fighting with them about this new meter and now I been having head aches , light headed , dizziness and I wonder why is this happening now then I found out the meter gives out RF radiation and on top of that it can tell what been running and how long it was running anything to T.V. to computers to hot water heater , then I was reading and, I read that they can use this info to market to sale, then I read it also can be hacked in to . And I am still fighting to get the old meter back . I even try to pay $$$ to them , if I buy a new meter like I had and the meter is new how much will it cost to switch meters out . they will not do it . so I am thinking of just shut me off . I got me wood burner for heat this winter and I can heat water with it to. got me a Coleman stove to cook on , Coleman lights , I can charge a battery for my T.V. so winter is not the problem , the summer is the problem I can do not breath good and the summer makes it worse . So what can I do? Make me more sick and cook me inside until I die or can’t breath good until I die? on top of that I do not sweat that good so my body does not cool of that good in the summer . and I am on a tight budget . What can I do?

Thank you for posting my story from the Blaze /Genn Beck. I left a comment a short time before this happened on your site on how to erase your utility easement. Without an easement the utility company must have your permission to come upon your land. Unfortunately not having an easement (in this case) appears not to protect us from Trespassing by utilities and police officers when they do not follow the laws of your state. It is beginning to look as though the utilities are contracting with law enforcement to act as the gestopo when breaking the law. This may be due to the law(?) passed by Pres. Obahma where law enforcement are permited to enter your property, home etc. without our permission. My power was off for 32 hours before many groups in Ohio and The Blaze jamed the phone lines to the Governor’s office and Representative’s offices. The Governor, John Kasich of Ohio, had my power restored late Saturday afternoon. I lucked out, as the more I research, I see that some states like Illinois and others have no cooperation from their Governors. We the people must stick together and keep saying NO! Soon the smart grid will not be so smart an idea. More and more people, cities and states appear to be reconsidering the consequences, and analogue meters are being replaced. Albiet charges fees to keep them which seems to me to be extortion. I will still help and do my part to try and stop these meters from being placed on all our homes! My fight is not over. The power restore, may be temporary. They did not take my analogue meter, which they could have done, as I offered it to them. They just wanted to shut off my power. We will see. In Ohio there are laws (The Ohio Revised Codes) that do not permitt the power to be turned off for any reason from November 15 thru April 15. AEP States that law pertains only to consumers who do not pay their bill. Wow! If you are paid up to date as I was they can turn off your power. Does this make sense to anyone? Brenda Hawk
