“When I got home I saw my own walkway, which is on the other side of my neighbor’s smart meter, had a new pile of dead bees. This, dead bees in our garden, is a new occurrence. Sometimes they aren’t yet “dead,” but I see them walking on the ground, not able to fly or get back to their hive.”
Read more about this account here. More reports of bee harm, and links to scientific studies of ecological damage from wireless technology at Kauai’s Stop KIUC site. While key pollinators (not to mention our children) are very likely being damaged in unknown ways by pulsed smart meter microwave radiation, the Environmental Defense Fund is all abuzz defending its pet project — the Smart Meter.
Never mind that there is not one shred of (non-industry) evidence that the smart grid will actually reduce energy usage. Never mind that studies at Oxford University have shown that smart meters fail to reduce energy consumption. Never mind that the older analog meters were working just fine, did not consume any energy at all, and probably would have worked for another 80 years unlike smart meters which consume a ton of energy to manufacture (abroad), run, maintain, store all that private data, and then replace in ten years. Never mind that EDF is relying on discredited and misrepresented data to compare smart meter emissions to other wireless devices.
Never mind all that because EDF’s board of directors includes venture capitalists who are hoping to make a killing on a threatened IPO of Silver Spring Networks, which manufactures communication systems for smart meter mesh networks and is based in Redwood City, CA. And of course nothing is more important than rich people making more cash. Particularly the environment. Yet the storm clouds of public resistance to the smart grid are gathering and threaten to rain out their parade. We’ll see if this alleged IPO will weather- or succumb to- the “Facebook flu.”
EDF’s board includes Ann Doerr, the wife of John Doerr, whose VC firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers is heavily invested in Silver Spring. By following the money, it’s a little easier to understand why environmental groups like EDF seem to be throwing environmental caution- not to mention reason- to the wind despite the clear scientific evidence of environmental and health damage from wireless tech.
Whatever’s going on here, one thing is for sure. Corporate environmental groups like EDF are after the wrong kind of green. And the bees are not happy.
OMG! That’s it! This is the reason!
I was just commenting to my wife the other day, that pretty much on a daily basis for the last year or so, i’ve noticed bees just walking around on the ground, dazed, and pretty much dying. I happens in our back yard, which has quite a bit of plant life that the bees like. It’s never been more than one or two at a time, but it happens so frequently, that i made a mental note to do some research on what could be affecting
bees. I thought for a while it could be pesticides or something.
And then today, i read THIS article! This connection is truly astounding.
Luckily for me, i was able to op-out of our SCE smart meters, and they installed a nice, safe analog meter about a month ago.
I will make sure to monitor the bees, and see if this improves their condition.
Don’t forget the ant! The ant protects the trees from pesty insects and helps pollinate. A recent study in Belgium showed that the 900MHz frequency effects their smell and memory.

Of course ! Bees die and it MUST be the smart meters ! It couldn’t have anything to do with the pesticides your neighbour uses in her garden to get rid of those pesky aphids ( or anything else ) …
Due to the hard work of many of us in Westchester County, NY, the number of homeowners, schools and businesses using pesticides has gone down significantly in the last 10 years.
So, why the dramatic reduction of bee populations in the last 5-6 years.
My native flower garden used to be full of all kinds of bees 5-6 years ago. Now there are very few.
This loss coincides with the proliferation of wireless technologies, especially the
spread of dangerous AMR and “smart” electric, water and gas meters in every home, building and school in our area.
And is it a coincidence that in the last 5-6 years our local bats are dying?
The most vulnerable amongst us seem to be the ones who are getting hit by this unprecedented radiation exposure first.
I think the wireless and utility industry made up the pesticide and bee problem.
Thank you SSM for your great work!
Where’s the comment supposedly posted by SSN? Shouldn’t it be left on the page and *flagged for others to consider* rather than removed completely? Only seems fair 🙂
There is a very strange connection between insects and electricity. Less than a week of laying out christmas lights in my front yard, a gigantic Fire Ant hill appeared right in the middle of a three-strand connection I assembled in the front yard. The ground was in no way disturbed, and in fact, the connection was elevated by monkey-grass above the ground. It was also brand-new wiring with no known contamination (with, sugar for instance) that I am aware of. I normally have a few small fire ant hills to deal with, but this one was abnormally huge, and it’s appearance at this connection was surprising.
Of also possible interest, while researching this on the internet, I read a quote by Nicola Tesla: “Alpha waves in the human brain are between 6 and 8 hertz. The wave frequency of the human cavity resonates between 6 and 8 hertz. All biological systems operate in the same frequency range. The human brain’s alpha waves function in this range and the electrical resonance of the earth is between 6 and 8 hertz. Thus, our entire biological system – the brain and the earth itself – work on the same frequencies. If we can control that resonate system electronically, we can directly control the entire mental system of humankind.”
Doesn’t have anything to do with SmartMeter, but I just installed a wireless doorbell and now I suddenly have a huge pile of dead bees (some still crawling around half alive) on my front porch directly below the doorbell. In the 10 years I’ve lived at my house, never seen anything like it. Might see a dead bee here or there, but not a pile of 50+ bees. I’m pulling the new doorbell until I can do further research. The Doorbell is a SadoTech…yikes!!!
